Grateful for a great reading day – day 2

Hi friends,

I am sure you all are doing good. I am doing good as well.

Today was a wonderful and a relaxed reading day for me. I am so grateful to have been able to relax and read a simple fiction novel without worrying about the virus or about life in general.

It is so important for all of us to take a break from the routine and do something just to relax and be calm.

These days certain sites are offering free ebooks so that people can read more during the lockdown period. So today, after breakfast, I was browsing through one such website and found a simple romantic book. It was a book on a librarian and the whole story revolved around how she set up a mobile bookshop and pursued her dream of owning a bookshop.

I like reading books on books and book-lovers. I love the idea of reading and owning books. (I am sure book-lovers would understand me).

I spent the whole day reading the book. Instead of aimlessly browsing YouTube or Instagram, I spent my time reading just for the sake of reading and enjoying.

Why am I grateful for this?

The first reason is that I read for the purpose of reading and enjoying and not with the purpose of learning something new. This made me relax instead of trying to figure out the hidden lessons.

Another reason is that for the last few months I had been reading with the purpose of learning something new and had realised that I wasn’t able to enjoy the writings. It felt very similar to being busy clicking pictures of a beautiful place instead of enjoying its beauty and freshness.

Do let me know what do you do, to relax and enjoy.
